Vote For Your Block: The Boogie Down Bronx Edition
The National Dominican Women’s Caucus, in its third collaboration with NYC Votes, brought an engaging and bilingual session to Bronx residents on October 23, 2025, at the Bronx Museum of the Arts. Vote For Your Block: The Boogie Down Bronx Edition empowered attendees with the knowledge and tools to participate confidently in the 2025 General Elections.
Through interactive discussions, participants explored the role of money, power, and accountability in local politics, learned about NYC’s Matching Funds Program, and gained essential voting information—including ballot questions, candidates, and political parties. This event reinforced the importance of every Bronx voice being heard and every vote counting.

The National Dominican Women's Caucus hosted the Community Forum: Looking Ahead to NYC’s Primaries. The event focused on providing essential information and resources about the ranked choice voting process, while also addressing questions from attendees.
We extend our sincere thanks to Ama Acquah, Training Coordinator at NYC Votes, and our board member Damarys Vazquez, County Committee Member for District 70A. Together, they delivered an engaging, interactive, and informative bilingual presentation that empowered our community with knowledge and clarity.
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of The Rosalba Polanco Award to Hon. Carmen De La Rosa, in recognition of her outstanding leadership, and tireless dedication to the residents of NYC Council District 10.
We are deeply grateful to Alianza Dominicana for partnering with us to host this event. Special thanks as well to Dominicanos USA (DUSA) and Xiomara Bello from Primerica for providing valuable resources to our attendees; Yuberka Jimenez of YM Delicias y Más for the delicious food; and Eliseo Montero for recording the evening’s proceedings.
